Estética da juventude em Walter Benjamin

Abstract

A presente tese procura elaborar a ideia de uma estética da juventude em Walter Benjamin. Para isso, buscou integrar, no primeiro e segundo capítulos, os principais ensaios do período inicial de seu pensamento, dedicados ao tema da formação, compreendidos entre 1911-1919, em que o filósofo buscou ? pela ideia de juventude romântica, atuante e crítica ? caracterizar uma imagem da formação humana. Ao discutir questões presentes no cotidiano da juventude escolar e acadêmica, tais como a religiosidade, a sexualidade, os ideais estéticos, o papel da crítica e a reforma educacional, Benjamin mostrou que ser jovem é, antes de tudo, uma concepção de vida, mas também um período único, pois a juventude é aquela que está à espera do espírito. No terceiro capítulo, discute-se ideia de criação e unidade/totalidade também presentes no romance inacabado de Novalis Heinrich von Ofterdingen, marco do primeiro romantismo alemão de Jena, representado por um jovem.<br>

Abstract : The present doctoral dissertation attempts to elaborate the idea of an aesthetics of youth in Walter Benjamin. In order to do so, I sought to integrate, in the first and second chapters, the main essays of the early period of his thought devoted to the theme of education (written between 1911-1919), in which the philosopher sought ? through the romantic idea of youth as an active and critical life ? to characterize an image of human education. In discussing questions present in the quotidian of the scholarly and academic youth of his time ? such as religiosity, sexuality, aesthetic ideals, the role of criticism, and educational reforms ?, Benjamin has shown that being young is, first and foremost, a conception of life, but also a unique period, since the youth is characterized as the waiting for the spirit. In the third chapter, I discuss the ideas of creation and unity/totality as they are presented in the unfinished Novalis? novel Heinrich von Ofterdingen, the landmark writing of the first German romantic generation of Jena; a novel whose main character is represented by a young man.
