Leitura de textos em libras (signwriting) por surdos acadêmicos: conforto linguístico e identificação cultural

Abstract

Este estudo está relacionado à leitura de textos em Libras (SignWriting) por Surdos acadêmicos: conforto linguístico e identificação cultural. A pesquisa apresenta como objetivo principal investigar a percepção do surdo acadêmico quanto à leitura de textos escritos em Libras no sistema SignWriting a partir de dois aspectos: o conforto linguístico e a identificação com o registro. Os objetivos específicos foram: (a) identificar como os leitores Surdos percebem as marcas específicas das línguas sinalizadas nos textos escritos em Libras, (b) identificar os obstáculos acadêmicos e sociais para adesão dos Surdos ao Sistema SignWriting; (c) avaliar se a compreensão leitora é percebida nos leitores Surdos em textos em SignWriting, (d) verificar se os leitores Surdos sentem conforto linguístico ao ler textos escritos em Língua de Sinais, (e) verificar se os textos em SignWriting tornam a leitura mais prazerosa para leitores Surdos. A pesquisa envolve os estudos das áreas: Libras, Escrita de Sinais e Leitura de textos escritos. Além disso, baseia-se na abordagem teórica de Quadros e Karnopp (2004), Barreto e Barreto (2015), Andrade (2018), Marcuschi (2008) e outros. A metodologia adotada na investigação é pautada por sua natureza na pesquisa aplicada, com relação aos objetivos, trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, com abordagem de análise quali-quantitativa de dados obtidos por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com oito acadêmicos Surdos de Instituições Federais que têm em sua matriz curricular a disciplina da Escrita de Sinais. Os resultados das análises revelaram que os acadêmicos Surdos precisam se adaptar à prática da leitura de forma mais intensa em sala de aula. Conclui-se a importância do texto em SignWriting na sala de aula para leitores Surdos através do conforto linguístico, pois a Línguas de Sinais é a Língua Natural que facilita a comunicação ao signo próprio da Língua de Sinais.

Abstract: This study is the subject of the research is related to the reading of texts in Libras (SignWriting) by academic Deaf students: linguistic comfort and cultural identification. Show Deaf academic students that they can read the SignWriting text by understanding the text through linguistic comfort. The general objective of this research is to investigate the perception of Deaf academics regarding the reading of texts written in Libras in the SignWriting system from two aspects: these two objectives are specific: linguistic comfort and identification with the record. The research involves studies in the following areas: Libras, Writing Signs and Reading Written Texts. In addition, working with a theoretical approach in Quadros and Karnopp (2004), Barreto and Barreto (2015), Andrade (2018), Marcuschi (2008) and others. The methodology used to work as a research approach is qualitative; the nature of the research is applied; the research objective is exploratory; and the research procedure is participant through the interview. With eight Deaf academics, they participated in the research at the Federal Institution for the discipline of Sign Writing. To check reading comprehension through linguistic comfort and cultural identification. To analyze Deaf academic students who show the difference about each expression used with linguistic comfort and cultural identification. The participants read the text ?A Lenda do Guaraná? only with a written sign, less Portuguese, and questionnaires such as: text interpretation in three parts Linguistic, Encyclopedia (world) and Interactional knowledge. The interview is semi-structured. The results of the analyzes showed that Deaf academics need to adapt to practice in greater depth in the classroom. Some teachers do not encourage reading SignWriting in the classroom. It concludes the importance of the text in SignWriting in the classroom by Deaf readers through linguistic comfort, since Sign Language is the Natural Language that facilitates communication to the sign of Sign Language.
