A Condição de Urbanidade para Elaboração de Projetos Urbanos de Sistema Viário em Cidades Médias Brasileiras

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é discutir a importância da condição de urbanidade para a elaboração de projetos urbanos de sistema viário de cidades médias brasileiras. Faz parte do referencial teórico da pesquisa de mestrado intitulado Urbanidade em Cidades Médias: O Caso do Corredor Estrutural Leste de Transporte Público em Uberlândia – Mg. É investigada a forma como as intervenções do sistema de mobilidade urbano, em geral, priorizam a engenharia de tráfego e o transporte público deixando de lado as relações sociais que acontecem no espaço público urbano. Em resposta o estudo da vida na cidade como foco destas intervenções, conduz a pensar e planejar a cidade de forma mais responsável socialmente e sustentável. A pesquisa está inserida no projeto maior de Projeto Sustentável para a cidade: O caso de Uberlândia- MG.

The objective of this article is to discuss the importance of the urbanity condition for the elaboration of urban projects of the road system of medium Brazilian cities. It is part of the theoretical reference of the research of masters entitled Urbanity in Medium Cities: The Case of the Eastern Structural Corridor of Public Transport in Uberlândia - Mg. It is investigated how the interventions of the urban mobility system, in general, prioritize the traffic engineering and the public transport leaving aside the social relations that happen in the urban public space. In response to the study of city life as the focus of these interventions, it leads to thinking and planning the city in a more socially responsible and sustainable way. The research is part of the largest project of Sustainable Project for the city: The case of Uberlândia-MG.
