Infância como crítica social: uma análise do suplemento "O Estadinho" (1984-1987)

Abstract

Entre 1984 e 1987, em Santa Catarina, um grupo de jovens universitários ficou responsável pela produção do suplemento infantil O ESTADINHO. Neste período, o suplemento teve uma abrangência importante por ser parte jornal de maior influência regional, e também por um vínculo estabelecido com o Governo do Estado. No entanto, os jovens editores tiveram a oportunidade de produzir um material que foi muito além daquilo que era considerado adequado à infância. Procuramos compreender como a crítica à sociedade contemporânea e à posição desprivilegiada que a criança ocupa neste contexto aparece no suplemento, em especial, por meio da análise dos quatro supracitados anos, a partir de cinco categorias: O Jornal como Brinquedo, Infância Não Infantilizada, A Criança e a Cidade, Resistência ao Mundo Adulto e O Papel do Lúdico. Observa-se que a figura do adulto foi utilizada como alegoria para personificar tal crítica, responsabilizando-o pelas consequências negativas do progresso e do avanço da sociedade industrial-capitalista. Parece que tal critica emplaca um elogio e defesa da infância por vê-la como possibilidade de resistência contra a forma social rejeitada. Dividindo o período em três fases distintas, constatamos que o suplemento se consagra em produzir jornalismo infantil sério, e que seu maior triunfo é o aspecto lúdico. A partir das ferramentas oferecidas por Walter Benjamin para observação dos fenômenos da Modernidade, concluímos que o abismo existente na relação adulto criança é fruto da fragmentação da experiência, manifestada no conflito entre as gerações, e que a chance de enfrentamento deste conflito está assegurada a partir da experiência lúdica, apesar de suas limitações. Constata-se ainda que uma outra possibilidade de solucionar tal problema pode residir no ato de narrar a infância.

Abstract : Between 1984 and 1987, in Santa Catarina, a young college group became responsible for the production of the infant supplement O ESTADINHO. In this period, the supplement had an important reach for being part of the most influent regional newspaper, and also for an established link with the estate government. However, the young editors had the opportunity of producing a material that was far beyond what was considered apropriate for childhood. We seek to understand how the critic to contemporary society and the underprivileged position that a child occupy in this context appears in the supplement, specially, by the analisys of the four years above mentioned, through five categories: The Newspaper as a Toy, Non Infantilized Childhood, The Child and the City, Adult World Resistency and The Ludic Role. It is observed that the adult image was used as an alegory to personify that criticism, making him responsible for the negative consequences of the progress and the industrial-capitalist society advance. It seems that such criticism materializes a complement and a defense of childhood by seing it as possibility of resistence against the rejected social form. Spliting the period into three distinctive fases, it is stated that the supplement is consecrated in producing serious infant journalism and that its biggest triumph is the ludic aspect. Through the tools offered by Walter Benjamin to observe the Modernity phenomenon, we conclude that the existent abyss in the relationship adult - child is product of the experience fragmentation, manifested in the conflict between the generations, and that the chance of coping with this conflict is assured by the ludic experience, even though its limitations. It is also stated that another possibility of solving such problem can dwell in the act of narrating the childhood.
