Analisando a hierarquia DIKW

Abstract

A presente dissertação faz uma análise da hierarquia DIWK a qual inclui os conceitos de dado, informação, conhecimento e sabedoria usando-se de uma interlocução das disciplinas da Gestão do Conhecimento com alguns aspectos da Psicanálise. A hierarquia DIKW é um elemento norteador de muitos estudos que lidam com informação e conhecimento, trata-se de tema referência e fortemente presente em áreas como gestão do conhecimento e ciências da informação. As definições dos elementos que compõem a hierarquia são das mais variadas e se mostram influenciadas tanto pelo campo de atuação, quanto pela abordagem teórica do autor que as seleciona. Este trabalho conta com uma revisão literária da hierarquia DIKW, explorando as diferentes definições dos termos da hierarquia e suas relações inerentes. Após análise extensiva das óticas acerca do fenômeno, alguns questionamentos lógicos são feitos, permeando pontos fundamentais encontrados na literatura, assim como outros que surgem no decorrer da análise. Discutem-se conceitos de realidade objetiva e subjetiva; agente do conhecimento; linguagem. Termina-se por concluir que, apesar de uma ferramenta útil para auxiliar no cotidiano das discussões do conhecimento, por simplificar a complexa abstração da temática em três ou quatro níveis bem destacados, a pirâmide acaba por não abarcar certos aspectos e elementos fundamentais do complexo do conhecimento. Um esquema geral é proposto como produto da análise e discussão, onde é esboçada uma narrativa sobre o campo do conhecimento e possíveis relações entre seus elementos.

Abstract : This dissertation analyses the DIKW hierarchy that includes data, information, knowledge and wisdom concepts presenting relations between the knowledge management discipline with some aspects of psychoanalysis. The hierarchy is a central construct for many studies that focus on information and knowledge, being a strong reference on the information systems and knowledge management fields. The definitions of the elements that form the hierarchy vary and are normally influenced by the teorical background of the different authors. This dissertation present a literary review of the subject, exploring its different definitions, and its inherent relations. After the review and an extensive analysis of the different aspects of the subject, logical questions are made about the hierarchy way of functioning and it´s context. This work also discusses objective and subjective reality, knowledge agents, and language. In conclusion, it´s shown that, even though the hierarchy is commonly used in language and that it helps to approach the subjects with three or four stablished levels, it´s elements are not well defined, aswell as the hierarchy lefts out a lot of key aspects of the knowledge paradigm, therefore is not desirable for scientific purposes. A general scheme is proposed as a product of the discussion where the knowledge field elements and it´s possible interactions are explored.
