Design de Vestuário e Sustentabilidade: propostas estético-formais em práticas emergentes

Abstract

O presente artigo é fruto de pesquisa descritiva, qualitativa e básica/pura. O objetivo está em apresentar e descrever a articulação do Design de Vestuário à sustentabilidade pelo intermédio de quatro práticas emergentes e suas propostas estético-formais: (i) design e trabalho artesanal; (ii) design e ativismo; (iii) design para remanufatura; e (iv) zero waste design. No âmbito da primeira prática são apresentados os casos da marca Recollection Lab e da designer Carla Fernández. No tangente ao design e ativismo, citam-se os casos Justa Trama e Armário Coletivo. Em design para remanufatura, aponta-se os casos Comas e Patch Over Patch. Por fim, a marca Contextura e o figurinista Nick Cave ilustram a prática do zero waste design. Entende-se que as práticas apresentadas nesse artigo promovem novas abordagens para o desafio da aproximação entre Indústria Têxtil e de Confecção e sustentabilidade.

This article is a descriptive, qualitative and basic / pure research whose objective is to present and describe the articulation of Apparel Design to sustainability through four emerging practices and their aesthetic-formal proposals, which are: (i) design and craft work; (ii) design and activism; (iii) design for remanufacturing; and (iv) zero waste design. As part of the first practice, the cases of the Recollection Lab brand and designer Carla Fernández are presented. With regard to design and activism, the Justa Trama and Armário Coletivo cases are mentioned. In design for remanufacturing, we can see the Comas and Patch Over Patch cases. Finally, the Contextura brand and costume designer Nick Cave illustrate the practice of zero waste design. It is inferred that the practices presented in this article promote new approaches to the challenge of the approximation between the Textile and Apparel Industry and sustainability.
