Representações sociais da vida associativa: estudo sobre uma organização da sociedade civil de resíduos sólidos de Palhoça - SC

Abstract

A heterogeneidade própria do campo das organizações da sociedade civil abre margem para estudos em diversas áreas abordando diferentes perspectivas. Dado isto, meu objetivo central foi compreender de que forma os sujeitos que fazem parte de uma organização da sociedade civil se compreendem enquanto tal. Organização esta que atua no município de Palhoça (Santa Catarina) na área de resíduos sólidos, campo historicamente marcado pela exclusão social, informalidade e precariedade das relações de trabalho, mas que também pode assumir papel gerador de transformações sociais quando ligado à ação coletiva. Caracterizei o estudo enquanto qualitativo, que se utilizou das técnicas de observação participante, entrevistas e análise documental. O aporte teórico se pautou no debate sobre sociedade civil, na teoria da delimitação dos sistemas sociais (Guerreiro Ramos) e na teoria das representações sociais. Esta última foi também base metodológica sobre a qual se desenvolveu a interpretação dos resultados. Conclui que a interação entre os sujeitos através do espaço de comunicação era fator determinante no estabelecimento de laços familiares associativos e no compartilhamento de um projeto social vinculado à história desta associação. História esta que ligava o trabalho de coleta de resíduos sólidos aos valores propagados pelo engajamento social e pela educação ambiental e que transcendia o espaço interno da associação, tornando essa um agente de educação ambiental local.

Abstract : The heterogeneity inherent in the field of civil society organizations opens the door to studies in several areas, addressing different perspectives. Given this, the main objective of this work was to understand how the subjects that are part of an organization of civil society understand themselves as such. This organization operates in the area of solid waste, a field historically marked by social exclusion, informality and precariousness of labor relations, but which can also assume a role that generates social transformations when linked to collective action. I characterize the study as a qualitative one, using the techniques of participant observation, interviews and documentary analysis. The theoretical contribution was based on the debate on civil society, on theory of social systems delimitation (Guerreiro Ramos) and on the theory of social representations. The latter was also the methodological basis on which the interpretation of the results was developed. It concludes that the interaction between the subjects through the communication space was a determining factor in the establishment of associative family ties and in the sharing of a social project linked to the history of this association. History that linked the work of solid waste collection to the values propagated by social engagement and environmental education and that transcended the internal space of the association, making it an agent of local environmental education.
