Disputas discursivas em torno da violência: crimes sexuais na Fortaleza de inícios do século XX

Abstract

Este trabalho objetiva analisar os discursos produzidos quanto à questão da violência sexual e das condutas sexuais desviantes no âmbito da criminalidade na cidade de Fortaleza durante as primeiras décadas do século XX. Considerando as mudanças sociais, políticas e culturais que estavam em andamento na cidade desde o fim do século XIX, assim como a legislação republicana sobre esse tipo de violência, neste trabalho, busquei problematizar as disputas discursivas sobre as condutas sexuais alvos de intervenção policial e judicial na cidade, e de que modo, se construíram e/ou reforçaram hierarquias de gênero quanto aos temas da violência, da moral e da sexualidade. Para tal, tomei os discursos dos médicos, dos representantes da lei e dos populares que fizeram parte dos processos criminais, como bases para refletir sobre esses temas e sobre as diferentes relações de poder existentes no cotidiano criminal da cidade.<br>

Abstract : This thesis aims to analyze the speeches made on the issue of sexual violence and deviant sexual behaviors under criminality in the city of Fortaleza in the early twentieth century. Considering the social, political and cultural changes that were happening in the city since the late nineteenth century, as well as the Republican legislation about this kind of violence, in this paper, I sought to problematize the discursive disputes about sexual behaviors that are targets for police and judicial intervention in the city, and how, were built and / or strengthened gender hierarchies according to the themes of violence, morality and sexuality. To do this, I took the speeches of doctors, law enforcement officers and folks that were part of criminal cases, as bases to reflect on these issues and the different power relations that were in the criminal life of the city.
