Abstract: This dissertation, developed within the scope of the Professional Master's Program in Letters (PROFLETRAS) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), focuses on the teaching narrative regarding the formation of the literary reader in High School from a dialogic perspective. The research aims to understand how students engage in a dialogue with the literary works I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai and The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector through the production of opinion texts, aiming for an inseparable approach between language and literature teaching. The theoretical framework is grounded in the studies of Bakhtin (1997, 2011, 2016) and his circle, under the dialogic perspective of language, as well as authors who address the teaching and learning of Portuguese Language and Literature, such as Geraldi (2003, 2012), Giovani (2006, 2010, 2014, 2020, 2024, 2025, 2026), and Candido (1988). Methodologically, the study is characterized as qualitative research aligned with the principles of action research (Thiollent, 2005) and, more deeply, with the narrative research methodology (Larrosa, 2002, 2011, 2015, 2016; Prado & Serodio, 2015, 2017). This approach allowed the teacher-researcher to assume authorship of her practice and report the lived experiences within the public school environment. The analysis of the textual productions revealed a dialogue between the characters and the students' own realities. In their writings, dialogic and ideological marks emerged regarding themes such as the importance of education, family relationships, aesthetic standards, and social inequality, evidencing processes of identification, empathy, and distancing toward the protagonists. The conclusion of this work was that the inseparability of language and literature teaching enabled a welcoming environment for students through writing, presenting reading as a refraction of life. For the teacher, the importance of her pedagogical stance for a responsible look at her own practice was noted. The generated product is an experience narrative to other teachers, highlighting the value of the counter-word and the strength of experiential knowledge. Based on the Bakhtinian perspective, it is concluded that art, life, and science must walk together, deeply permeating the dialogic and, therefore, ideological being. |
