Caminhos da cena: uma etnografia urbana no Centro-Leste de Florianópolis-SC

Abstract

A pesquisa buscou analisar a cena musical do Centro-Leste de Florianópolis-SC por meio de uma abordagem etnográfica, investigando o funcionamento de suas práticas, bem como as relações e tensões estabelecidas entre agentes internos (músicos, produtores culturais, público, casas de show e jornalistas) e externos (prefeitura, turismo, políticas culturais, moradores de rua, jornalistas e outros agentes urbanos). Buscou-se compreender de que maneira essas manifestações culturais se legitimam na cidade e como articulam suas negociações no espaço urbano em meio a tensões sociais e interesses institucionais. A metodologia adotada fundamenta-se na observação participante, atravessada pela experiência da pesquisadora enquanto agente da própria cena, permitindo construir um percurso etnográfico marcado pelo exercício progressivo do estranhamento analítico. O trabalho evidencia as relações estabelecidas entre os diferentes agentes da cena a partir da formação de bandas, de suas trajetórias e redes de atuação, destacando a centralidade das articulações com produtores culturais, fotógrafos, jornalistas e proprietários de estabelecimentos culturais. Ao mesmo tempo, amplia a análise para as relações entre a cena e outros agentes que disputam e atravessam o mesmo espaço urbano, como instituições públicas, moradores e populações em situação de vulnerabilidade social. A pesquisa demonstra que a cena musical do Centro-Leste constitui-se como um espaço relacional atravessado por disputas simbólicas, negociações institucionais e diferentes formas de circulação urbana. A análise evidencia ainda como discursos associados à ?resistência?, à ?autenticidade? e ao ?independente? são mobilizados de maneiras distintas pelos próprios participantes da cena, ora vinculados à autonomia criativa, ora criticados por sua aproximação com formas de precarização do trabalho cultural. Ao mesmo tempo, o trabalho aponta para o caráter ambíguo da ocupação cultural do Centro-Leste, evidenciando como a cena, ainda que produza pertencimento, sociabilidade e revitalização urbana, também se insere em processos contraditórios e excludentes de transformação espacial.

Abstract: The research sought to analyze the musical scene of Centro-Leste in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, through an ethnographic approach, investigating the functioning of its practices as well as the relationships and tensions established between internal agents (musicians, cultural producers, public, music venues, and journalists) and external agents (local government, tourism, cultural policies, homeless populations, journalists and other urban actors). The study aimed to understand how these cultural manifestations achieve legitimacy within the city and how they negotiate their presence in urban space amid social tensions and institutional interests. The methodology was grounded in participant observation, shaped by the researcher?s own experience as an agent within the scene itself, allowing for the construction of an ethnographic trajectory marked by encounters with defamiliarization. The dissertation highlights the relationships established among the different agents of the scene through the formation of bands, their trajectories, and their networks of activity, emphasizing the centrality of connections with cultural producers, photographers, journalists, and venue owners. At the same time, it expands the analysis toward the relationships between the scene and other actors who dispute and traverse the same urban space, such as public institutions, residents, and socially vulnerable populations. The research demonstrates that the Centro-Leste music scene constitutes a relational space shaped by symbolic disputes, institutional negotiations, and different forms of urban circulation. The analysis further reveals how discourses associated with ?resistance,? ?authenticity,? and ?independence? are mobilized differently by the participants themselves, at times linked to creative autonomy and, at others, criticized for their association with forms of precarious cultural labor. Simultaneously, the study points to the ambiguous character of the cultural occupation of Centro-Leste, showing how the scene, while fostering belonging, sociability, and urban revitalization, is also embedded within contradictory and exclusionary processes of spatial transformation.
