Habitar o entre: as experiências migrantes e os territórios de pertencimento na cidade

Abstract

A pesquisa investiga como se constroem as relações de pertencimento de imigrantes brasileiras em Berlim, tendo como foco as experiências e os deslocamentos cotidianos. Para isso, busca compreender o papel dos territórios de pertencimento na relação subjetiva entre sujeito e cidade. Por meio de entrevistas, mapeamentos e percursos comentados, propõe-se uma cartografia urbana que revela práticas, significados e afetos emergentes da vivência migrante. Ao concentrar-se nos bairros de Friedrichshain, Neukölln, Kreuzberg e Mitte, o estudo reflete realidades vinculadas aos contextos urbanos habitados pelas participantes. Os resultados indicam que o lugar se constitui como território de pertencimento moldado por experiências e processos de subjetivação. O habitar migrante manifesta-se como uma busca constante pelo familiar no novo, marcada por movimentos de desterritorialização e reterritorialização, que evidenciam o caráter dinâmico do espaço urbano. Berlim é compreendida, neste estudo, não como cenário, mas como processo vivo, à medida que continuamente molda, e é moldada, pelas práticas cotidianas de seus habitantes. Ao olhar para o urbanismo a partir da experiência migrante, a tese convida à reflexão sobre práticas inclusivas e sensíveis à diversidade de corpos, trajetórias e modos de habitar. O estudo também questiona a espetacularização da cidade contemporânea em contraposição a cidade vivida, atualizada nas relações entre sujeitos e espaços efetivamente praticados no cotidiano.

Abstract: The research investigates how Brazilian immigrant women in Berlin construct their sense of belonging, focusing on their everyday experiences and movements through the city. It seeks to understand the role of territories of belonging in shaping the subjective relationship between individuals and the urban environment. Through interviews, mappings, and commented walks, the study proposes an urban cartography that reveals the practices, meanings, and affections emerging from migrant life. By focusing on the districts of Friedrichshain, Neukölln, Kreuzberg, and Mitte, the study reflects realities connected to the urban contexts inhabited by the participants. The findings indicate that place is constituted as a territory of belonging shaped by experiences and processes of subjectivation. Migrant dwelling manifests as a continuous search for the familiar within the new, marked by movements of deterritorialization and reterritorialization that highlight the dynamic nature of urban space. In this study, Berlin is understood not as a backdrop, but as a living process, one that continuously shapes and is shaped by the everyday practices of its inhabitants. By examining urbanism through the lens of the migrant experience, the thesis invites reflection on inclusive practices that are sensitive to the diversity of bodies, trajectories, and ways of inhabiting. The study also questions the spectacularization of the contemporary city, contrasting it with the lived city, one that is constantly redefined through the relationships between people and the spaces they actively inhabit.
