Alimentação, território e fé: a construção da identidade ribeirinha nas toadas dos bois-bumbás de Parintins

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar uma análise da representação da figura do ribeirinho presente nas toadas dos bois-bumbás do Festival de Parintins. Por meio da seleção e apreciação de seis toadas apresentadas em diferentes anos a partir da década de 2000, além de um levantamento teórico acerca do conceito de comunidades ribeirinhas e do significado do próprio festival, o trabalho visa compreender como se constroem a identidade e o cotidiano ribeirinho nas toadas do espetáculo. A análise das toadas permite compreender seu funcionamento para além dos três dias do festejo, ao funcionarem como mecanismos de resistência cultural e de denúncia. Dessa forma, compreende-se que o Festival de Parintins atua não só como espaço de lazer e celebração, mas também como ambiente mantenedor de memórias e heranças culturais.

The purpose of this study is to present an analysis of how the figure of the riverside dweller is portrayed in the songs of the bois-bumbás at the Parintins Festival. Through the selection and analysis of six lyrics performed in different years beginning in the 2000s, along with a theoretical review of the concept of riverside communities and the significance of the festival itself, this study seeks to understand how riverside identity and daily life are constructed in the lyrics of the performance. The analysis of the songs allows us to understand their function beyond the three days of the festival, as they serve as mechanisms of cultural resistance and social critique. Thus, it becomes clear that the Parintins Festival functions not only as a space for leisure and celebration, but also as an environment that preserves memories and cultural heritage.
