Clareamento interno em dentes não vitais: revisão narrativa da literatura

Abstract

O clareamento interno é uma modalidade de tratamento para dentes não vitais escurecidos, conservadora e segura, a qual pode trazer excelentes resultados sem que haja a necessidade de realizar desgastes da estrutura dentária. Com isso, este estudo tem como objetivo evidenciar, por meio de uma revisão narrativa de literatura sobre clareamento em dentes não vitais, qual é a melhor técnica, o material mais recomendado e suas principais indicações. Para este propósito, a revisão de literatura foi embasada em artigos publicados nos últimos 5 anos, com a incorporação de pesquisas clássicas para contextualizar o tema. Os trabalhos foram selecionados com base em uma estratégia de busca, em português, inglês e espanhol, utilizada nas principais bases de dados da área da saúde. Ao fim, foram utilizados 20 artigos para a realização desta pesquisa, além de um livro. Após a análise dos dados, este trabalho concluiu que o clareamento dental interno pode trazer resultados significativos, sem diferenças em relação ao resultado final entre as técnicas e materiais empregados no tratamento. Contudo, a técnica “inside-outside” com peróxido de carbamida em baixas concentrações é a mais indicada por questões de segurança e toxicidade.

Internal bleaching is a treatment modality for discolored non-vital teeth that is conservative and safe, capable of producing excellent results without the need to remove tooth structure. Therefore, this study aims to demonstrate, through a narrative literature review on bleaching of non-vital teeth, the best technique, the most recommended material, and its main indications. For this purpose, the literature review was based on articles published in the last five years, with the incorporation of classic studies to contextualize the topic. The studies were selected based on a search strategy, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, applied to the main health science databases. In total, 20 articles and one book were used for this research. After data analysis, this study concluded that internal dental bleaching can provide significant results, with no differences in the final outcome between the techniques and materials used in the treatment. However, the “inside-outside” technique with low-concentration carbamide peroxide is the most recommended due to safety and toxicity considerations.
