A Responsabilidade Socioambiental Corporativa: Análise das Normas Regulamentadoras ISO14001 e os ODS no contexto atual

Abstract

The 2030 Agenda of the United Nations established the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a global agreement to address the main social, economic, and environmental challenges of the 21st century. Among the proposed goals, environmental sustainability stands out, requiring the engagement of both government and the private sector. This study aims to analyze the existing connections between corporate social and environmental responsibility and environmental policies, with an emphasis on the ISO 14001 standard and the SDGs in the current context. The research is based on the understanding that corporations play a fundamental role in promoting sustainable development. A qualitative methodology was adopted, grounded in a literature review and analysis of documents related to environmental policies, ISO 14001 guidelines, and indicators associated with the SDGs. The findings indicate that the ISO 14001 standard serves as a means of integrating corporate management with environmental policies, fostering strategic alignment with global sustainability goals. However, it also highlights challenges such as oversight, standardization of impact metrics, and the integration of socio-environmental principles into business models.
