Relatório de estágio curricular obrigatório em clínica cirúrgica de pequenos animais

Abstract

O presente relatório descreve as atividades realizadas no estágio curricular obrigatório em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina na área de Clínica Cirúrgica de Pequenos Animais. O estágio foi dividido em quatro etapas, entre março e junho de 2025, totalizando 640 horas. Os locais onde o estágio foi realizado foram o Hospital Veterinário Público – Unidade Zona Leste, vinculado à Associação Nacional de Clínicos Veterinários de Pequenos Animais, a clínica Veterinária Especializada Giuffrida & Associados, Hospital Veterinário da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e o Hospital Veterinário da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Câmpus de Botucatu. A experiência teve como foco o aprimoramento técnico, aplicação prática de conhecimentos teóricos e desenvolvimento de habilidades clínicas, cirúrgicas e interpessoais, por meio do contato com diferentes estruturas hospitalares e perfis de pacientes e tutores. O estágio foi essencial para a consolidação dos conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos ao longo do curso e contribuiu significativamente para a formação acadêmica.

This report describes the activities carried out during the mandatory curricular internship in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in the area of Small Animal Surgical Clinic. The internship was divided into four stages, between March and June 2025, totaling 640 hours. The internship locations were the Public Veterinary Hospital – East Zone Unit, linked to the National Association of Small Animal Veterinary Clinicians, the Giuffrida & Associados Specialized Veterinary Clinic, the Veterinary Hospital of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of São Paulo (USP), and the Veterinary Hospital of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the São Paulo State University (UNESP), Botucatu Campus. The experience focused on technical improvement, practical application of theoretical knowledge, and development of clinical, surgical, and interpersonal skills, through contact with different hospital structures and patient and guardian profiles. The internship was essential for consolidating the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout the course and contributed significantly to academic training.
