Crise migratória europeia em campo: tensões sociais e políticas no futebol após 2015

Abstract

O presente trabalho busca explorar manifestações de problemáticas sociais relativas à crise migratória da Europa ocorridas no futebol. Como objetivo, procura-se entender como o esporte reflete tensões políticas, econômicas e sociais da crise com auge em 2015 e 2016, amplificando debates sobre imigração, nacionalismo e o crescimento de movimentos de extrema direita na Europa. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, com caráter exploratório, utilizando o procedimento técnico de estudo de caso. Para isso, foi desenvolvido um referencial teórico abordando os estudos de migrações, incluindo teorias marxistas que fazem um contraponto às teorias neoclássicas; um panorama geral da crise migratória, discutindo fatores históricos que levaram à crise; uma análise aprofundada do futebol como objeto político e global; e um estudo de caso para exemplificar as manifestações do fenômeno no futebol. As considerações finais reforçam que o futebol reflete mudanças de dinâmicas em sociedade e reconhecem o caráter dual do futebol que é capaz de fomentar sentimentos de exclusão e também incentivar a união em comunidades receptivas.

This paper seeks to explore manifestations of social issues related to the European migration crisis that have occurred in football. The aim is to understand how the sport reflects political, economic and social tensions of the crisis that peaked in 2015 and 2016, amplifying debates on immigration, nationalism and the growth of far-right movements in Europe. This is a qualitative research, with an exploratory nature, using the technical procedure of case study. To this end, a theoretical framework was developed addressing migration studies, including Marxist theories that counter neoclassical theories; an overview of the migration crisis, discussing historical factors that led to the crisis; an in-depth analysis of football as a political and global object; and a case study to exemplify the manifestations of the phenomenon in football. The final considerations reinforce that football reflects changes in dynamics in society and recognize the dual nature of football that is capable of fostering feelings of exclusion and also encouraging unity in receptive communities.
