Abstract

Desde que se começou a substituir os dentes faltantes por próteses totais, a busca pelo conforto destas, aliado ao bom desempenho clinico vem sendo procurado pelos cirurgiões-dentistas através dos tempos, muitos foram os materiais e técnicas desenvolvidos para se buscar estes objetivos. Alguns destes materiais são as bases resilientes, que promovem um aumento no conforto, atenuando as cargas mastigatórias. Porém as suas indicações são restritas e devem observar as características do paciente e a situação clinica que encontramos. Contudo estes materiais são de grande valor no cotidiano da clinica odontológica e devem ser de domínio do cirurgião dentista.

Ever since the substitution of missing teeth for total prostheses began, the search for the comfort these, allied to excellence in clinical performance have been sought by dentists troughout time, many materials and techniques have been objectives. Some of these materials are developed to achieve these resilient bases which promote na increase in contort, attenuating the masticatory loads. Nevertheles, their indications are restricted and the patient's characteristics should be taken into consideration, as well as, the clinical situation which is encoutered. However, these materials are of great value to the everyday dentalpraticaand should be mastered by the dentist.
