Relatório de estágio curricular obrigatório na área de clínica, cirurgia e reprodução de grandes animais.

Abstract

O estágio curricular obrigatório é uma etapa fundamental para formação acadêmica em Medicina Veterinária, pois permite a ampliação de conhecimentos teóricos na prática, além de ser essencial para o desenvolvimento profissional. A atuação do médico veterinário à campo é crucial para o sucesso das áreas de ovinocultura, suinocultura e bovinocultura de corte e de leite, assegurando a sanidade dos animais, prevenção de doenças, melhoramento genético, aumento da eficiência reprodutiva e produtividade do rebanho, com consequente melhora da qualidade dos alimentos. A equinocultura é outra importante área que conta com a contribuição do médico veterinário, visando garantir a sanidade, performance e bem-estar dos animais, através do controle sanitário, prevenção de doenças, acompanhamento do condicionamento físico e correto manejo nutricional. O presente relatório tem como objetivo descrever as experiências vivenciadas em estágio curricular obrigatório, realizado no município de Curitibanos, Santa Catarina, através de atendimentos à campo, com enfoque em bovinos, mas também englobando equinos, ovinos e suínos. Ao todo, foram contabilizadas 540 horas, com atendimentos clínicos, procedimentos cirúrgicos, manejos reprodutivos e sanitários, de 901 animais, sendo estes, 788 em bovinos, 58 em ovinos, 43 em equinos e 12 em suínos. Os manejos reprodutivos, foram os atendimentos mais prevalentes, correspondendo à 47,83% da casuística total.

The curricular internship is a fundamental step in the academic training in Veterinary Medicine, as it allows the expansion of theoretical knowledge in practice, in addition to being essential for professional development. The work of the veterinarian in the field is crucial for the success of the areas of sheep farming, pig farming, and beef and dairy cattle farming, ensuring animal health, disease prevention, genetic improvement, increased reproductive efficiency and productivity of the herd, with consequent improvement in food quality. Equine farming is another important area that relies on the contribution of the veterinarian, aiming to ensure the health, performance and well-being of animals, through health control, disease prevention, monitoring of physical conditioning and correct nutritional management. This report aims to describe the experiences lived in the curricular internship, carried out in the city of Curitibanos, Santa Catarina state, through field care, focusing on cattle, but also encompassing horses, sheep and pigs. In total, 540 hours were recorded, with clinical care, surgical procedures, reproductive and sanitary management, of 901 animals, of which 788 were cattle, 58 were sheep, 43 were horses and 12 were pigs. Reproductive management was the most prevalent care, corresponding to 47.83% of the total caseload.
