This research focuses on the problems involved in the transition from parks to
eco-industrial parks, focusing on mixed-use and logistics parks. Through an exploratory
methodology, a case study was conducted in a business and logistics park located in Brazil.
The main objective was to explore opportunities for applying the concepts of Industrial
Symbiosis in the park. The evaluation showed that the possibilities of application of Industrial
Symbiosis in mixed-use and logistics parks are linked more to the sharing of infrastructure,
utilities, and services than to physical exchanges. An action plan was proposed, contemplating
Industrial Symbiosis strategies and complementary activities aimed at increasing the
symbiotic potential. The main suggestions were the collective management of solid waste and
the offer of environmental technical support. As for the sharing of utilities, there is a potential
for the use of rainwater for non-potable purposes and the shared generation or acquisition of
renewable energies. |
