Title: Human-Centered Design for Social Innovation
Author: Ledur, Natália Sarzi; Mello, Carolina Iuva de
Abstract: As a consequence of the problems caused by the excess production and consumption of industrial products, we seek to approach the importance of new initiatives that disrupt this paradigm, as well as highlight the importance of design and the professional designer as active influencers in the transformation of a society that aims to a more sustainable way of life. This work attends the relationship between design and social innovation, presenting human-centered design as a possible methodological approach to be followed by designers in social innovation contexts, to the same extent that it reinforces the learnings of this theme in the practice of Project. It is expected, based on this work, design students and professionals will feel encouraged to study, understand, make projects that provoke the active participation of society in the design processes that they are directly involved in.
