Title: Structure of a material library within an academic FabLab oriented by Design
Author: Marques, André Canal; Palmitessa, Giulio Federico
Abstract: An innovative materials library is important because its focus is to help drive creativity, innovation, and progress in many areas. In this sense, providing appropriate materials so that students in higher education courses can learn to select them properly in their projects becomes fundamental in teaching-learning processes in the design field. This paper presents the case study of the creation, development, and implementation process of iMateria, an innovative materials library at UNISINOS' School of Creative Industry. The innovation of this project shows interesting elements of innovation, as it is now part of the Fab Lab network, has materials and projects that have used innovative materials, has a laboratory with industry 4.0 technologies, and the design that is developed and learned brings an important perspective on the Maker movement as a culture of innovation accessible to others
