The increased use of synthetic textiles in recent decades has contributed to the accumulation of microplastics in rivers and oceans, harming aquatic life and humans. Thus, this study aims to present a set of papers published in journals that integrate the topics of microplastics, synthetic textile fibers and domestic washing of clothing. The present study seeks to present arguments for discussion based on a bibliographic review of the set of themes mentioned. For that, we used the method of systematic literature review proposed by Conforto, Amaral and da Silva (2011). The database used was the Portal de Periódicos CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel). After filtering information proposed by the method, thirteen articles were selected for full reading. Subsequently, the papers were grouped by similarity and analyzed according to the guiding themes. As a result, it was evidenced that the presence of microplastics in the seas and oceans is mainly caused by the domestic washing process of synthetic fiber clothing. Furthermore, it is inferred that the amount of microplastics present in rivers and oceans tends to increase, given the large consumption of synthetic materials in progress. O aumento do uso de têxteis sintéticos nas últimas décadas contribuiu para a acumulação de microplásticos em rios e oceanos, prejudicando a vida aquática e os seres humanos. Assim, este estudo tem como objetivo apresentar um conjunto de artigos publicados em periódicos que integrem os temas microplásticos, fibras têxteis sintéticas e lavagem doméstica do vestuário. O presente estudo busca apresentar argumentos de discussão a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica do conjunto de temas citados. Para tanto, utilizou-se o método de revisão bibliográfica sistemática proposto por Conforto, Amaral e da Silva (2011). A base de dados utilizada foi o Portal de Periódicos da CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior). Após a filtragem de informações proposta pelo método, foram selecionados treze artigos para a leitura integral. Na sequência, os artigos foram agrupados por similaridade e analisados de acordo com os temas norteadores. Como resultado, foi evidenciado que a presença dos microplásticos nos mares e oceanos é provocada principalmente pelo processo de lavagem doméstica de vestuário de fibras sintéticas. Outrossim, infere-se que a quantidade de microplásticos presente nos rios e oceanos tende a aumentar, dado o grande consumo de materiais sintéticos em curso. |
