Abstract

Os microgreens são vegetais onde se colhem as partes comestíveis em estágio de plântula. São altamente nutritivos e muito utilizados na culinária sofisticada. É considerado um alimento emergente, relativamente recente que tem sido explorado no âmbito científico e comercial. A cienciometria pode ser utilizada para estudar a literatura científica de forma quantitativa, identificando tendências emergentes e a estrutura de conhecimento de determinado campo de pesquisa. Dessa maneira, objetivou-se com esse trabalho, realizar um estudo bibliométrico sobre o tópico “microgreen”, com base em dados de 2004 até 2022, buscando mensurar o panorama geral, identificar tendências da literatura científica e definir possíveis caminhos para a pesquisa sobre o tema. Por meio de uma busca de artigos científicos na base de dados Scopus e posterirormente uma análise bibliométrica, constatou-se que 60% das publicações científicas sobre microgreens se concentra entre 2018 e 2021. Os países que mais trabalham com esse termo são Estados Unidos da América e Itália, havendo um nível de colaboração entre eles. A maioria dos estudos são focados em aspectos ligados à luminosidade, crescimento e qualidade relacionada às características nutricionais, especialmente compostos bioativos. Inclusive, dos principais artigos citados, a maioria deles exploram esses termos associados, demonstrando uma tendência atual e futura a ser explorada pelos pesquisadores.

The microgreens are vegetables where the edible parts are harvested at the seedling stage. They are highly nutritious and widely used in sophisticated cuisine. It is considered an emerging food, relatively recent that has been explored in the scientific and commercial scope. The scientometrics can be used to study scientific literature in a quantitative way, identifying emerging trends and the knowledge structure of a certain field of research. In this way, the objective of this work was to carry out a bibliometric study on the topic "microgreen", based on data from 2004 to 2022, seeking to measure the general panorama, identify trends in the scientific literature and define possibilities for research on the topic. Through a search for scientific articles in the Scopus database and later a bibliometric analysis, it was found that 60% of scientific publications about microgreens are concentrated between 2018 and 2021. The countries that most work with this term are the United States of America and Italy, with a level of collaboration between them. Most studies are focused on aspects related to luminosity, growth and quality related to nutritional characteristics, especially bioactive compounds. Even, from the main articles cited, most of them explore these associated terms, demonstrating a current and future trend to be explored by researchers.
