Saneamento básico e qualidade de vida: o que a escola tem a ver com isso?

Abstract

Melhorar a qualidade de vida da população é um desafio para lideranças do mundo inteiro. Quando se fala em saneamento básico, logo nos vêm à mente as situações precárias da falta de água potável para consumo e falta de tratamento para o esgoto doméstico, as quais afetam diretamente a saúde humana e o ecossistema. Em várias pesquisas realizadas percebemos que existem diversas lideranças no mundo tratando do assunto, criando projetos e buscando colocá-los em prática, até mesmo porque devem cumprir com determinadas leis de cuidados ambientais. Porém, quando tais projetos saem do papel, a maioria das ações é destinada à área urbana, onde há maior concentração da população. Entretanto, na área rural, onde as condições de vida são mais difíceis, a população continua mais exposta aos riscos das possíveis doenças que a falta de saneamento básico pode causar. O objetivo geral deste trabalho é identificar e problematizar a abordagem escolar acerca do saneamento básico, especialmente da água e do esgoto. Os objetivos específicos foram definidos buscando: a) identificar os principais fatores que interferem na saúde e no bem-estar da população, bem como os impactos causados pela falta do saneamento básico; b) analisar a política de saneamento básico municipal a partir dos dados e sobre ações propostas e os resultados obtidos nas áreas urbana e rural, e por fim, c) analisar se e como o saneamento básico se faz presente como conteúdo curricular no campo da Educação Ambiental, nos documentos que norteiam a Educação Básica. Os dados acerca da situação do saneamento básico do município de Canoinhas-SC foram levantados através de pesquisa documental e bibliográfica. Também foram realizadas pesquisas em documentos que norteiam os eixos da Educação Básica como os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais, a Base Nacional Comum Curricular as Propostas Curriculares, regional e estadual por entendermos que, por meio da escola, podemos trabalhar as questões ambientais de modo geral, perpassando também, de forma direta e sistematizada, pelo saneamento básico, o qual considera-se essencial para melhorar a qualidade de vida da população.

Improving the population's quality of life is a challenge for leaders around the world. When talking about basic sanitation, the precarious situations of lack of drinking water for consumption and lack of treatment for domestic sewage come to mind, which directly affect human health and the ecosystem. In several surveys carried out, we realized that there are several leaders in the world dealing with the subject, creating projects and seeking to put them into practice, even because they must comply with certain environmental care laws. However, when such projects come out of the paper, most actions are aimed at the urban area, where there is a greater concentration of population. However, in rural areas, where living conditions are more difficult, the population remains more exposed to the risks of possible diseases that the lack of basic sanitation can cause. The general objective of this work is to identify and problematize the school approach to environmental sanitation, especially water and sewage. The specific objectives were defined seeking to: a) identify the main factors that affect the health and well-being of the population, as well as the impacts caused by the lack of basic sanitation; b) analyze the municipal basic sanitation policy based on data and proposed actions and the results obtained in urban and rural areas, and finally, c) analyze if and how basic sanitation is present as a curricular content in the field of Environmental Education, in the documents that guide Basic Education. Data on the situation of basic sanitation in the city of Canoinhas-SC were collected through documentary and bibliographic research. Research was also carried out in documents that guide Basic Education axes, such as the National Curriculum Parameters, the Common National Curriculum Base and the regional and state Curriculum Proposals, as we understand that, through the school, we can work on environmental issues in general, also permeating, in a direct and systematic way, by basic sanitation, which is considered essential to improve the quality of life of the population.
