Uma breve história dos fungos na evolução da Terra

Abstract

Os fungos são organismos de grande importância ecológica e os ambientes da Terra não seriam os mesmos sem a participação destes organismos. Para que se possa compreender a evolução destes organismos ao longo dos bilhões de anos de história do planeta, registros fósseis são essenciais. Devido ao baixo número de registros fósseis do grupo e pelo fato da micologia ser ainda uma ciência recente, frequentemente os fungos são deixados de lado em representações que contam a história evolutiva da Terra. Neste contexto, foi elaborado um texto que conte a história do grupo ao longo da evolução da Terra. As informações foram obtidas em pesquisas bibliográficas a respeito das evidências fósseis de fungos. O texto foi combinado a uma imagem representativa das eras geológicas em formato de cartilha, com objetivo de facilitar o uso do material para a divulgação, além de proporcionar um material complementar ao ensino sobre fungos. Posteriormente a este trabalho, se objetiva buscar formas de publicação do material, em sites e revistas relacionados ao tema, buscando ampliar o alcance do material e contribuir para a divulgação de informações sobre os fungos.

Fungi are organisms of great ecological importance, and the Earth's environments would not be the same without the participation of these organisms. In order to understand the evolution of these organisms over the billions of years of the planet's history, fossil records are essential. Due to the low fossil record of the group and the fact that mycology is still a recent science, fungi are often left aside in representations that tell the evolutionary history of the Earth. In this context, a text was elaborated to tell the history of this group throughout the evolution of the Earth. The information was obtained from bibliographic research about the fossil evidence of fungi. The text was combined with a representative image of the geological eras in a brochure format, with the objective of facilitating the use of the material for dissemination, as well as providing complementary material for teaching about fungi. After this work, the goal is to seek ways to publish the material in websites and magazines related to the theme, seeking to broaden the scope of the material and contribute to the dissemination of information about fungi.
