Soy (Glycine max L) is the flagship of Brazilian agribusiness and has transformed the
agricultural model and the production system, using techniques such as direct planting, which
lead to correct soil management. In addition to supporting agricultural production, soils are the
source of a wide range of essential ecosystem functions and services, which are mostly carried
out by invertebrate organisms. The objective of the work was to evaluate the changes undergone
by the soil invertebrate community during the change in land use (natural field for soybean
crops in the summer, and planted pasture in the winter), and the relationship of the groups with
the quality of the soil. only. The study was conducted in the municipality of Vale Verde - RS,
between July / 2018 and July / 2019. Sampling was performed using different methodologies:
pitfall traps, mesofauna rings, monoliths (TSBF method) and bait blade. In addition, they were
collected for parameters of the physical-chemical parameters of the soil. The organisms were
identified at the order level, and the community was assessed for wealth, abundance, diversity
by the Shannon-Weaver index, dominance by the Simpson index and uniformity by the Pielou
index. The greatest wealth was found in the first collection (natural field), both for macro (16
Orders) and for mesofauna (12 Orders), while the rate of consumption of bait blades (15.5%)
was the lowest. The second collection (soybean crop) shows a reduction in wealth (8 Orders for
macro and 7 Orders for meso), with the highest rate of consumption of bait blades (60.1%). In
the third collection (winter pasture), there was an increase in the macrofauna richness (9
Orders), but a reduction in the mesofauna richness (6 Orders), while the consumption of bait
slides remained similar to the previous period (59.2%). During the sampled period, there was a
loss of the Orders Diplura, Isopoda, Opiliones, Protura, Pulmonata and Tylenchida, which are
of great importance in the cycling of nutrients, construction of small galleries and performance
in the population control of microorganisms. The study revealed that the ecosystem was not
resilient within the period covered (1 year), being dominated by some groups and losing
diversity and uniformity during and after soybean cultivation. However, our study evaluated
only changes that occurred in the first year of conversion, such as the need for research and
monitoring the area for a longer period, evaluating the establishment of the system and behavior
of soil invertebrates over the course of several years. |
