Diagnóstico e tratamento de manchamento dental

Abstract

O sorriso é um importante contribuinte estético, entretanto, há fatores como o manchamento dental que pode prejudicar a autoestima de um indivíduo. O objetivo deste estudo é apresentar, através de uma revisão de literatura, a etiologia, diagnóstico e tratamento para diversos tipos de manchamentos dentais. Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica por artigos eletrônicos, em bases de dados como Pubmed, Scielo, Lilacs e Google Acadêmico publicados nas línguas inglesa e portuguesa e de acesso livre no período de 1953-2020. Foram selecionados 195 artigos e 5 livros. A literatura apresenta que para o manchamento dental, há diversas etiologias, como fatores extrínsecos e intrínsecos, locais ou sistêmicos, endógenos ou exógenos, de origem congênita ou adquirida e ocorrendo no período pré ou pós-eruptivo, e tendo cada tipo sua apresentação clínica e o tratamento mais indicado. Concluiu-se que o cirurgião dentista deve estar apto para diagnosticar cada tipo de manchamento dental e, assim, recomendar o melhor tratamento estético dental para seu paciente.

The smile is an important aesthetic contributor, however, there are factors such as dental staining that can impair an individual's self-esteem. The aim of this study is to present, through a literature review, the etiology, diagnosis and treatment for various types of dental stains. A bibliographic search for electronic articles was carried out in databases such as Pubmed, Scielo, Lilacs and Google Scholar published in English and Portuguese and open access in the period 1953-2020. 195 articles and 5 books were selected. The literature shows that for dental staining, there are several etiologies, such as extrinsic and intrinsic factors, local or systemic, endogenous or exogenous, of congenital or acquired origin and occurring in the pre or post-eruptive period and each type having its clinical presentation and its most recommended treatment. It was concluded that the dental surgeon must be able to diagnose each type of dental staining and thus recommend the best aesthetic dental treatment for his patient.
