Abstract

A tese \"A potência da comunidade em José Val del Omar -surrealismo e imagem\" busca analisar a produção artística e literária de José Val del Omar, sua exploração do sentidomístico da energia no cinema e os modos como essa investigação o levam a resgatar em suas imagens o sentido político da comunidade. À diferença da maioria dos surrealistas que compartilhavam com Breton uma leitura em termos de sociedade, ou seja, base e estrutura, José Val del Omar desenvolvia a noção de comunidade, sob uma compreensão afetiva das tradições arcaicas de uma cultura. Em seus textos, poemas, colagens e filmes, emerge aimagem do \"duende\" e de uma \"cultura de sangue\" cuja leitura nos possibilita levantar a tese de que o surrealismo de Val del Omar antecipa investigações contemporâneas sobre a imagem e a comunidade, tal como desenvolvidas por filósofos como Georges Didi-Huberman e Giorgio Agamben.

Abstract: The thesis \"Community's potency in José Val del Omar - surrealism and image\" seeks to analyze the artistic and literary production of José Val del Omar as well as his exploration of mysticism within cinema in order to emphasize a political approach to community in his images. Unlike most surrealists who shared with Breton a reading of the movement in terms of society, that is, base and structure, José Val del Omar investigated the concept of community through an affective understanding of the archaic traditions of a culture - therefore lorquian images of a \"culture of blood\" and \"duende\" emerge in his texts, poems, collages and films. In this sense, Val del Omar's surrealist approach anticipates contemporary researches on image and community as those developed by philosophers Georges Didi-Huberman and Giorgio Agamben.
