Monstrans: figurações (in)humanas na autorrepresentação travesti/trans* sudaca

Abstract

Neste trabalho utilizo referenciais e perspectivas descoloniais dissidentes para analisar as diferentes maneiras como transgeneridade, travestilidade e transexualidade adentram o simbólico (literatura e imagens) através da autorrepresentação monstruosa em projetos autônomos (zines) e contraculturais sudacas. Para tanto, por meio de uma metodologia parcialmente autoetnográfica e fundamentada nos saberes, vocabulários e suportes dissidentes, proponho tecer uma genealogia da autorrepresentação monstruosa travesti/trans* no âmbito dos saberes feministas, efetuando análises comparativas entre imaginários e figurações emergentes no norte e no sul global. Atentando-me às retóricas e às estratégias representativas que diferenciam o repertório imagético norte-americano (especialmente as figuras que despontam nos textos de Mary Daly e de Susan Stryker) das autorrepresentações dissidentes autônomas (presentes em zines e outras produções autogeridas), postulo a pergunta: em seus alinhamentos com o não/humano, como se posicionam os monstrans* sudacas no que tange às estratégias micropolíticas, às temporalidades dissidentes, à colonialidade do gênero e à violência estrutural? A partir dessa indagação, enfatizo a potência singular das autorrepresentações travestis/trans* que, encarnadas no monstruoso e no animalesco, voltam-se à própria comunidade para pluralizar suas narrativas e fortalecer seus laços.

Abstract: This project carries out a dissident (queer) decolonial perspective for the analysis of sudaca zines in which transgender, travesti and transsexual people create self-representations that embody monstrous and animal tropes. Using a partially autoetnographic methodology structured in dissident knowledge, vocabularies and mediums, I trace a genealogy of monstrous travesti/trans* self-representations within the feminist field, and offer comparative analysis between imagery depicted in the north and the global south. Carefully scrutinizing the rhetoric and representational strategies that set apart the North-American repertoire (especially considering the figures that first emerged in Mary Daly's and Susan Stryker's essays) from sudaca autonomous self-representations published in zines and other countercultural projects, I pose the question: in their alignments with the non/human, what are sudaca monstrans* stances on micropolitical strategies, marginalized temporalities, gender coloniality and structural violence? While mapping different responses to these questions, in this dissertation I emphasize the singularities of travesti/trans* monstrous and animal self-representations's potential to pluralize and counter normative discourse (such as academic, medical and legal approaches to trans*) in an effort to fortify community bonds and share survival strategies.
