Teoria da ação política em Maquiavel: uma perspectiva ético-política

Abstract

O objetivo primevo deste trabalho é apresentar uma teoria da ação política na obra de Nicolau Maquiavel, definindo tal teoria a partir de três eixos constitutivos, a saber, o eixo antropológico, o eixo legislativo e, por fim, o eixo político. Este movimento é empreendido à contraluz de uma teoria da ação política apresentada como existente na tradição cristãmedieval, que toma seus fundamentos de uma incipiente teoria da vontade. A argumentação central deste trabalho é a de que esta tradição cristã-medieval, por meio da incipiente teoria da vontade, instaura um paradigma ético-político que subjuga a materialidade das ações, suas consequências, à intencionalidade do querer, por meio dos princípios ético-formais interiorizados. Isto faz, no cenário ético-político, as ações políticas serem valorizadas apenas pela intenção ética. Nosso argumento é o de que N. Maquiavel rechaça tal construção, subverti-a, e assenta uma teoria da ação política que restabelece a centralidade da materialidade da ação, suas consequências, invertendo a ordem de predominância existente na tradição cristã-medieval. Para demonstrarmos a validade desta argumentação, começamos por apresentar os traços da incipiente teoria da vontade no início do medievo, seu desdobramento político na construção agostiniana e reverberação ainda no humanismo italiano ?quatrocentista?. Em seguida, para balizar o pensamento maquiaveliano, demonstramos sua retomada da tradição romana clássica, bem como seus fundamentos ético-políticos centrados na ação. Por fim, apresentamos a configuração de uma teoria da ação política em Maquiavel, por meio dos três eixos já indicados, demonstrando seu movimento de superação da tradição cristã-medieval que subordina a validade das ações políticas a uma valoração ético-formal.

Abstract: The primary objective of this work is to present a theory of political action in the work of Nicolau Machiavelli, defining this theory from three constitutive axes, namely, the anthropological axis, the legislative axis and, finally, the political axis. This movement is undertaken against the back of a theory of political action presented as existing in the Christian-medieval tradition, which takes its foundations from an incipient theory of the will. The central argument of this work is that this Christian-medieval tradition, by means of the incipient theory of the will, establishes an ethical-political paradigm that subjugates the materiality of the actions, their consequences, to the intentionality of the will, through the ethical- formalized internalized. This makes, in the ethical-political scenario, political actions to be valued only by ethical intention. Our argument is that N. Machiavelli rejects such a construction, subverted it, and establishes a theory of political action that reestablishes the centrality of the materiality of the action, its consequences, inverting the order of predominance existing in the Christian-medieval tradition. In order to demonstrate the validity of this argument, we begin by presenting the traces of the incipient theory of the will in the early medieval period, its political development in the Augustinian construction and its reverberation still in the Italian humanism 'fourteenth century'. Then, to mark Machiavelli's thinking, we demonstrate his resumption of classical Roman tradition, as well as his ethicalpolitical foundations centered on action. Finally, we present the configuration of a theory of political action in Machiavelli, through the three axes already indicated, demonstrating his movement to overcome the Christian-medieval tradition that subordinates the validity of political actions to an ethical-formal valuation.
