O insuportável mau cheiro da memória: a ditadura chilena por Roberto Bolaño e Alejandro Zambra

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende analisar duas obras de dois escritores chilenos, Roberto Bolaño e Alejandro Zambra, sob a perspectiva da memória acerca do regime militar instaurado em 1973. Os romances, Estrella distante e Formas de volver a casa, apresentam maneiras diferentes de contar e recontar a memória de vítimas de uma das mais sangrentas ditaduras que a América Latina registrou no século XX. O primeiro deles, Estrella distante, publicado pela primeira em 1996, será analisado a partir de categorias básicas da memória, como suas definições e seu estatuto nas últimas décadas; a ideia de ?rastros? materiais ou imateriais que compõem o arquivo da memória e da história; e o discurso testemunhal. O segundo romance, Formas de volver a casa, publicado pela primeira vez em 2011, será trabalhado a partir das alegorias da infância, especialmente a do labirinto; da experiência; e da escrita biográfica. Ambas as análises serão norteadas principalmente pelo pensamento de Paul Ricoeur, Maurice Halbwachs, Tzvetan Todorov, Beatriz Sarlo, Márcio Seligmann-Silva, Roland Barthes e Walter Benjamin.

Abstract: This research intends to analyze two Chilean writers? works, Roberto Bolaño and Alejandro Zambra, from the perspective of the memory about the military regime established in 1973. The novels, Estrella distante and Formas de volver a casa, present different ways of counting and recounting memory from victims of one of the bloodiest dictatorships that Latin America recorded in the 20th century. The first of them, Estrella distante, published in 1996, will be analyzed from basic categories of memory, such as their definitions and status in the last decades; the idea of material or immaterial \"traces\" that compose the archive of memory and history; and the testimonial speech. The second novel, Formas de volver a casa, published in 2011, will be analyzed from the allegories of childhood, especially that of the labyrinth; of experience; and biographical writing. Both analyzes will be guided mainly by Paul Ricoeur, Maurice Halbwachs, Tzvetan Todorov, Beatriz Sarlo, Márcio Seligmann-Silva, Roland Barthes and Walter Benjamin.
