As influências do porto na estruturação do espaço urbano de Itajaí

Abstract

Este trabalho analisa a produção do espaço urbano em Itajaí, buscando apreender a influência de seu porto estatal na formação de sua malha urbana. Foram utilizadas categorias de análise, com destaque para a de fixos e fluxos de Milton Santos, sendo o porto um fixo e as relações que estabelece, atrai e irradia, os fluxos. Recorreu-se à história e aos processos sociais para identificação dos períodos e escalas de estudos. Em cada período identificado, foram destacadas a evolução dos sistemas de engenharia e o aumento da divisão social do trabalho vigentes, sendo possível acompanhar, por conseguinte, as mudanças da configuração territorial. O trabalho utilizou-se também de imagens de satélites, softwares de geoprocessamento e dados da Prefeitura municipal para representar a expansão da malha urbana ao longo dos períodos definidos. A pesquisa procurou compreender o porto na formação e desenvolvimento de Itajaí e como participa no direcionamento de seu crescimento conforme a modernização e localização das atividades portuárias.

Abstract : The present work analyzes, Itajaí s urban space production, aiming to apprehend the influence of its state port in the formation of its urban network. Fixed and flow analysis categories of Milton Santos were used, being the port the fixed one and the relations that it establishes, attracts and radiates, the flows . History and social processes were resorted to identify periods and scales of study. In each identified period, the evolution of the existing engineering systems and the increase in the social division of labor were also highlighted, being possible to follow the changes in the territorial configuration. The work also used satellite images, geoprocessing software and city hall data to show the urban network expansion over the defined periods. The research aimed to comprehending the port in Itajai s formation, development and how it steers the city growth through the location and modernization of port activities.
