O dia paralímpico escolar (DPE) é um programa de educação paralímpica que acontece na escola através de um evento e visa aumentar a conscientização das pessoas sobre deficiência e esporte, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento de atitudes positivas sobre a deficiência. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a influência do dia paralímpico na atitude de estudantes sobre a deficiência. A pesquisa contou com a participação de 170 estudantes entre grupo controle (84) e grupo experimental (86) (80 meninos e 90 meninas de 11,9 anos) do ensino fundamental II de uma escola da rede municipal de Florianópolis, SC. A intervenção aconteceu durante um dia, contou com oito modalidades e com a presença de oito atletas paralímpicos. Foram verificadas atitudes perante a inclusão de alunos com deficiência nas aulas de educação física (CAIPE-R), atitude geral sobre deficiência (CATCH) e atitude em julgamentos de atributos de estudantes para com os colegas com deficiência (Adjective checklist) antes e depois do DPE. Os dados foram tratados por meio de estatísticas descritivas para interpretação dos escores de atitude e análises inferenciais para relacionar as informações pessoais com os escores de atitude por meio do teste t independente não pareado e o teste de Wilcoxon para comparar as atitudes pré com as atitudes pós intervenção para um mesmo grupo. Os resultados indicaram que as variáveis de gênero e contato prévio não teve influência na percepção de atitude sobre a deficiência enquanto para a variável de idade, os estudantes mais velhos mostraram-se mais afetivos e mais positivos na percepção de atitude geral sobre a deficiência. Além disso, aqueles que declararam ser muito competitivos apresentaram menor percepção de atitude para flexibilização nas regras do jogo. Aqueles que participaram do DPE tiveram mudanças positivas de atitude para inclusão de colegas com deficiência nas aulas de educação física na sub-escala de inclusão (p= 0,01). Contudo, esse grupo apresentou redução na atitude no que se refere à flexibilização de regras no jogo (p= 0,03). O grupo experimental também aumentou positivamente a atitude sobre julgamentos de atributos de um colega com deficiência (p= 0,00). Em relação aos componentes da atitude geral sobre deficiência, nenhum dos grupos apresentou mudança no componente afetivo. No entanto, o grupo que passou pela intervenção teve mudança de atitude no componente cognitivo (p= 0,00) enquanto que o grupo controle teve diminuída a atitude no componente comportamental (p= 0,03). De maneira geral, a intervenão do programa DPE mostrou aumentar positivamente a atitude dos estudantes perante a deficiência, sugerindo então que programas educativos como esse são propulsores na colaboração sobre a conscientização sobre a deficiência e são viáveis e necessários no espaço escolar.///////////////////////// Paralympic School Day (PSD) is a Paralympic Education Program that takes place at school through an event and aims to raise people's awareness of disability and sport by contributing to the development of positive attitudes about disability. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the Paralympic Day on the attitude of students about disability. The research was attended by 170 students between control group (84) and experimental group (86) (80 boys and 90 girls of 11.9 years) of elementary teaching II of a school of the municipal network of Florianópolis, SC. The intervention took place during one day, had eight sports and eight paralympic athletes. Attitudes towards the inclusion of students with disabilities in physical education (CAIPE-R), general attitude about disability (CATCH) and attitude towards judging students' attributes towards peers with disabilities (Adjective checklist) before and after PSD. Data were treated using descriptive statistics for the interpretation of attitude scores and inferential analyzes to relate personal information to attitude scores using the unpaired independent t-test and Wilcoxon's test study to compare with pre-attitudes and post-intervention attitudes for the same group. The results indicated that the variables of gender and prior contact had no influence on the perception of attitude about disability whereas for the age variable, older students were more affective and more positive in the perception of general attitude about disability. In addition, those who claimed to be very competitive showed less perception of attitude for flexibility in the rules of the game. Those who participated in the PSD had positive attitude changes to include peers with disabilities in physical education classes on the inclusion subscale. However, this group showed a reduction in attitude regarding the relaxation of rules in the game. The experimental group also positively increased the attitude about attribute judgments of a disabled colleague. Regarding the components of the general attitude about disability, none of the groups showed a change in the affective component. However, the group that underwent the intervention had a change in attitude in the cognitive component while the control group had a decrease in attitude in the behavioral component. Overall, the intervention of the PSD program has been shown to positively increase students' attitude towards disability, thus suggesting that educational programs such as these are instrumental in collaborating on disability awareness and are viable and necessary in the school space. |
