Vihuela Ninfa

Abstract

Nesta tese investigo vestígios da vihuela durante a colonização da América Latina. Para tanto proponho vermos a vihuela como uma Ninfa, vítima e testemunha da catásfrofe, do genocídio da colonização. Apresento inicialmente algumas características da vihuela, como repertório, inovações, formas; comento sua decadência e em seguida apresento os instrumentos dela derivados em seu percurso na América latina. Por fim, em minha leitura de Martín Fierro, detecto no texto a presença da ninfa vihuela como testemunha das barbáries.

Abstract : In this dissertation I study some vestiges left by the vihuela during the process of Latin America colonization. I propose to see the vihuela as a Nymph, a victim, as well as a witness, of the general catastrophe and the genocide imposed by colonization. At first, I present some characteristics of the vihuela, such as repertoire, innovations, and forms; I then comment on its decadence, and present some instruments that came from it in Latin America. In the end, I read Martín Fierro, and detect on it the presence of the nymph vihuela as a witness of barbarism.
