Tratamento com Policresuleno para Fístula Uretral em Garanhão - Relato de Caso

Abstract

A hemospermia consiste na presença de sangue no ejaculado de garanhões, o que reflete de forma negativa na reprodução, podendo levar a subfertilidade ou até mesmo infertilidade do animal afetado. Esta condição é originada de afecções no trato reprodutivo. Dentre as possíveis enfermidades está a fístula uretral, que geralmente ocorre próxima ao arco isquiático e varia de 3 a 10 mm de extensão. O principal tratamento para fístula uretral é cirúrgico através da realização de uretrotomia, para diminuir a pressão no local durante a ejaculação. Porém, uma nova conduta terapêutica vem sendo aplicada: a cauterização química. Este método é realizado por meio da aplicação tópica de Policresuleno 4% diluído em água destilada no lúmen uretral. O presente estudo tem como objetivo relatar o caso de um garanhão diagnosticado com fístula uretral e tratado de maneira eficaz com 100 ml da solução de Policresuleno a 4%.

The hemospermia consists of the presence of blood in the ejaculate of stallions, which reflects negatively in the reproduction, and can lead to the subfertility or even infertility of the affected animal. This condition originates from affections in the reproductive treatment. Among the possible diseases is the urethral rent, which usually occurs near the sciatic arch and ranges from 3 to 10 mm. The main treatment for urethral rent is surgical by performing urethrotomy, in order to decrease pressure at the site during ejaculation. However, a new therapeutic approach has being applied: chemical cauterization. This method is performed by topical application of 4% Policresulen diluted in distilled water in the urethral lumen. The present study aimed to describe the case of a stallion diagnosed urethral rent and treated effectively with 100 ml of the solution of 4% Policresulen.
