Abstract: This study is a proposal of a Sensory Garden at UFSC, and discusses about the inherent benefits of the interactions with Garden plants, as well as the numerous opportunities to the Education, Research and Extension scope. The sensory Garden significance is founded in its educational potential, which crosses the Inclusive Education and the Environmental Education fields, and since it is na open-air space, it i salso na informal teachinglearning environment. The Sensory Garden at UFSC is an inovative idea that provides the visitor a multi-disciplinary approach associated to ecosystem interactions and biodiversity. The possibilities of thematic areas overcomes the plants while includes the inbuilt relation between the flora and the fungi and animals. The location is currently useless and has a great socialeducational potential, once it is located between two study centres and densely populated districts. The sensory Garden was thought to welcome anyone, and its Project provides appropriate adjustments to improve access by disabled persons, such as blind people, wheelchair users, elderly and children. The proposed activities goes beyond the enclosure of the university, in order to stablish a direct interaction with the community. This study presentes a table of sensory plants species with the various organoleptic properties, as well as a sensory illustration, made with Photoshop and its sketch.
