The Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is an allogeneic species, belongs to the
Convolvulaceae family and has its origin from Central and South America. The plant
breeding seeks to select genotypes with good results in a range of environments through the
evaluation of the presence of interaction genotypes x environments. From this, the objective
of the work was to evaluate the presence of interaction clones x crops in morphological and
productive characters of sweet potato clones. The work was carried out in the Experimental
Farm UFSC Curitibanos - SC, in the cropsof 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. The clones evaluated
were Brazlândia Pink, BRS Amelia, Beauregard, Brazlândia Purple and BRS Rubissol. The
experimental design used in the two crops was randomized blocks with five treatments and
three replicates. The planting of the branches was done in the month of November of each
crop and irrigation was carried out until the first roots appeared. In the fourth month of each
crop cycle, the following aerial part evaluations were performed: general shape of the leaf
(GSL), lobe type (LT), lobe number (LN), central lobe shape (CLS), leaf color mature (LCM),
leaf color immature (LCI), pigmentation of (PH), petiole length (PL), length of the trabecula
(LT) and diameter of the trainee (DT). In the fifth month of the cycle of each the crop was
performed and then the roots were evaluated, being: root external color (REC), root shape
(RS), root length (RL), root diameter (RD), root mean mass (RMM), total root number
(TRN), number of commercial roots (NCR), total production (TP) and commercial production
(CP). From the qualitative data, the morphological characterization of the roots and aerial part
of the genetic material was performed, and the quantitative data were submitted to analysis of
individual variance by the F test (p <0.05) for each crop. After confirming the homogeneity of
the mean squares of the residue (<7), the analysis of joint variance was performed by the F
test (p <0.05). The averages were compared using the Tukey test (p <0.05). The
morphological characterization of clones reached unique characteristics for each clone. The
clone BRS Amelia is the only one that has its branch totally purple, already the clone BRS
Rubissol has its immature leaves purple on both sides. The clone Brazlândia Purple has both
its mature and immature green leaf, without any blemish. On the other hand, the Beauregard
clone has the triangular central lobe and the smallest diameter of the branch's training. The
characteristics of LT, PL, RL, RD, NCR, TRN, RMM, TP and CP, the sweet potato clones
evaluated had interaction with the crops, and for the characteristics of DT and LR the sweet
potato’s clone didn’thave differential behavior in the two crops evaluated. |
