Representações sociais da ruralidade brasileira na revista Globo Rural (1985-2015)

Abstract

Estudo centrado no enfoque simbólico das notícias, que são apreendidas como representações sociais da realidade. Com base na teoria de Serge Moscovici, busca-se compreender como o jornalismo participa do processo de construção social da realidade, tendo como problema de pesquisa as representações sociais da ruralidade brasileira na revista Globo Rural. O objeto empírico é composto por notícias e reportagens publicadas neste produto jornalístico entre 1985 e 2015 e os objetivos são identificar e descrever as representações sociais da ruralidade brasileira nos textos que compõem o corpus e examinar as transformações nas representações identificadas e descritas, verificando alterações, permanências ou exclusões nestas ou destas construções simbólicas. O percurso metodológico subdivide-se nas análises descritiva e interpretativa. Na descrição, utiliza-se a análise de conteúdo para codificar e categorizar as reportagens e notícias em quatro eixos temáticos: econômico-produtivo, técnico-científico, sociocultural e natural-sustentável. Na interpretação, retoma-se o referencial teórico para compreender as representações da ruralidade brasileira na revista, identificando-se a ruralidade com ancoragem na técnica; a ruralidade com ancoragem sociocultural; a ruralidade com ancoragem na natureza; e a ruralidade com ancoragem no movimento descrito na Sociologia como "nova ruralidade".

Abstract : A study focused on the symbolic dimension of the news, which are perceived as social representations of reality. Based on Serge Moscovici's theory, we seek to understand how journalism participates of the process of social construction of reality, directing our focus to the social representations of Brazilian rurality in Globo Rural magazine. The empirical object is composed of news and reports published in this journalistic product between 1985 and 2015, and the objectives are to identify and to describe the social representations of the Brazilian rurality in the texts that compose the corpus, and also to examine the transformations in the representations identified and described, in addition to expounding upon and understanding the justification for perpetuation or exclusions of these symbolic constructions. The methodological course is subdivided into descriptive and interpretative analysis. Descriptively, content analysis is used to encode and categorize reports and news into four thematic axes: economic-productive, technical-scientific, sociocultural and natural-sustainable. We then interpret the theoretical reference to understand the representations of Brazilian rurality in the magazine, identifying the rurality with anchorage in the technique; rurality with sociocultural anchorage; rurality with anchorage in nature; and rurality with anchorage in the movement described in Sociology as "new rurality".
