In the capitalist system in which we live in, money is necessary for the survival of any person. At some point our capacity for productivity slows down. Therefore, in order to have a decent standard of living, we need to spend what we have saved over the years. The main focus of the project is to combine the historical facts of the economy, coupled with a brief history about money and how it was first used as a necessary means to commerce, in order to understand how those involved have acted in financial markets. Taking these successes and failures and what we have learned about history helps us in the future to better understand investment and help to protect against the risks that go along with it. Through financial and accounting tools, demonstrated in a simplified and functional way, it reached the main objective, which is to develop a new methodology for teaching financial education for children of elementary school. Using statistical methods, characterizing the quantitative research, were analyzed the qualitative variables, obtained with questionnaires applied to all students enrolled in sixth, seventh and eighth years of elementary school at Colégio Catarinense. Since then, was formed an idea about the level of the students’ proximity with the world of finance, thereby facilitating the development of a material focused on the needs reported by students during the search. Finally, a manual of personal finance to students in this age group was developed, with notions of investments, their types and characteristics, along with worksheets to facilitate understanding, where it was demonstrated, for example, the operation rates of income tax, how the capitalization of interests happen and how to make a basic personal financial planning |
