Estômago: do conto ao roteiro (caminhos e decisões de roteiristas)

Abstract

Esta dissertação faz um percurso pelo debate sobre a chamada "adaptação" literária para o cinema, ressaltando o papel do roteiro, do roteirista e de seus caminhos e escolhas neste processo. Trata-se de pensar a adaptação como criação e diálogo, deixando para trás o pensamento de que a fidelidade ao "original" seja um parâmetro incontestável. A proposta é ver o texto literário como um mote, como ponto de partida da criação. O roteiro figurando como momento crucial deste processo, e não apenas como instrumento transitório. O roteiro do filme Estômago, adaptado do conto Presos pelo Estômago, é o corpus de pesquisa.

This dissertation is a journey through the debate on the socalled "adaptation" of literature to film, emphasizing the role of the script, the writer and his ways and choices in this process. It is thinking the adaptation as the creation and the dialogue, leaving behind the thought that the loyalty to the "original" is an incontestable parameter. The proposal is to start to see the literary text as crucial starting point of creation. The script figuring in the crucial moment of this process, not only as a transitory tool. The screenplay of the movie Stomach, adapted from the tale Prisoners of the Stomach, is the research corpus.
