| Abstract: |
This study analyzes how teacher mediation in the 1st year of Elementary School, through intentional pedagogical strategies, can promote the assurance of learning and contribute to the prevention of school difficulties in the following years. In view of this, it questions which teacher mediation strategies favor the assurance of learning and contribute to the prevention of school difficulties in the following years. It is qualitative research of a bibliographic nature, with an exploratory and descriptive character. The theoretical framework articulates contributions from the historical-cultural perspective, especially from Vygotsky, on the role of the teacher as an organizer of the social development environment; from studies on the appropriation of writing as a complex cultural tool; from research on literacy practices in the classroom; in addition to critical analyses on the production of school failure in the Brazilian context. The results show that school failure is not the product of individual deficiencies of children, but a historical, social, and pedagogical construction, aggravated by the structural conditions of Brazilian public schools. Intentional teacher mediation, understood not as simple intermediation, but as the organization of the social development environment, constitutes a central element for ensuring learning.Pedagogical practices that integrate literacy and reading/writing skills, that respect the different rhythms and singularities of children, and that recognize the unique relationship each individual establishes with knowledge favor integral development and contribute to the prevention of school difficulties from the early years of schooling. |
