Adicionalmente, construtos como comportamento financeiro, atitude financeira, aversão à perda, inclusão financeira e bem-estar financeiro apresentaram maior resistência a mudanças no curto prazo. Abstract: The study analyzes the results of a financial education intervention with university students, based on a longitudinal and comparative approach between an experimental group and control groups, also considering a gender perspective. The objective is to assess the effects of the intervention on financial literacy, its antecedent factors, such as loss aversion and overconfidence, and its consequent factors, such as financial well-being and financial inclusion, as well as to identify differences in the evolution of these constructs between men and women. To this end, an experiment was conducted in two stages throughout the 2025/2 academic semester at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, with data collection at the beginning and at the end of the period, before and after students? exposure to formal personal and behavioral finance content. The longitudinal design makes it possible to measure intra- and intergroup changes, reducing the impact of initial differences observed among participants. The results indicate that the experimental group showed statistically significant changes in central constructs, particularly an increase in financial knowledge. In contrast, an increase in overconfidence was also observed, suggesting a worsening in the calibration of participants? perceptions of their own competencies. The control groups, in turn, showed greater stability, with only occasional and less consistent changes. The gender analysis showed that, in the experimental group, the significant increase in financial knowledge occurred especially among women, and that gender differences initially observed in financial knowledge and financial well-being were no longer statistically significant after the intervention. On the other hand, the increase in overconfidence occurred similarly among men and women. In addition, constructs such as financial behavior, financial attitude, loss aversion, financial inclusion, and financial well-being showed greater resistance to change in the short term. It is concluded that the intervention contributed especially to the expansion of financial knowledge and to the reduction of gender inequalities in relevant constructs, although it showed limitations in modifying behavioral biases and other more stable aspects, indicating the need for longer-term educational actions. |
