This study analyzed the geological evolution of the flood-tide and ebb-tide deltas in the southern portion of Baía Sul, Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, considering the influence of sea-level variations during the Holocene. Bathymetric data, satellite images, and subsurface seismic data were used to identify the main morphological features, interpret the paleoenvironmental evolution of the area, and assess the dynamics of sedimentary banks. The bathymetry revealed deep channels, especially in the ebb-tide delta, and shallow sedimentary banks in areas of lower hydrodynamic energy. The temporal analysis of the banks indicated that most of these features remained relatively stable, showing gradual changes in their dimensions and localized migration of some banks. The seismic data also highlighted the importance of tidal currents in sediment erosion and deposition, mainly in the formation of tidal deltas. Seismic interpretation allowed the recognition of six seismostratigraphic units, which indicated the presence of an irregular rocky basement, erosive surfaces associated with valley incision during periods of lower sea level, valley infilling at the beginning of the Holocene transgression, and sediment deposition related to subsequent sea-level stability and variations. It is concluded that seismostratigraphy was fundamental to understanding the sedimentary evolution of Baía Sul, demonstrating that the current action of tidal currents, responsible for the erosion, transport, and sediment deposition processes observed in the area, represents the same mechanisms that operated throughout its geological evolution. Thus, its current morphology results from the interaction between the rocky basement, sea-level oscillations, sediment supply, and the action of tidal currents, maintaining the system in a continuous process of sediment erosion, transport, and deposition.
