The industrial sector is increasingly adopting Industry 4.0 technologies to optimize pro-
duction. However, modernizing machine interfaces remains a challenge due to limited
computational resources on the factory floor. This work was motivated by the necessity
of creating a system that integrates machine configuration and realtime data visualiza-
tion directly into the equipment’s Human-Machine Interface (HMI), thereby eliminating
the need for external computers. The project details the development of a web appli-
cation based on edge computing built specifically for machine interfaces. The main
contribution lies in the system’s frontend, including the conception and implementation
of a machine configuration workflow with realtime field validation. To overcome the mem-
ory limitations encountered on the machine, a Static Site Generation (SSG) strategy
was adopted, which eliminates the need for dynamic servers at the edge. The results
demonstrate that the proposed interface prevents errors in machine configuration and
ensures smooth operation without exhausting hardware resources. The output reveals
that the use of modern web technologies with static rendering is a viable solution for
replacing legacy dashboards, promoting operational autonomy, improving usability, and
reducing the total cost of ownership of industrial infrastructure. |
