Investment casting is widely used in the aerospace industry for the manufacturing of components with high geometric complexity and strict dimensional requirements, such as turbine blades. These components operate under extreme temperature and pressure conditions, requiring high structural integrity and thermal efficiency throughout their service life. To enable internal cooling, turbine blades contain internal channels formed by ceramic cores inserted into the mold during the casting process. However, the displacement of the ceramic core during the pouring of molten metal may compromise wall thickness and, consequently, the performance of the component. This phenomenon is associated with the hydrodynamic forces acting during mold filling, as well as with the physical properties of the molten metal. In this context, numerical simulation represents an important tool for analyzing and predicting this behavior. This work employs geometric modeling, CFD simulation of the multiphase flow during mold filling, and fluid-structure interaction analysis in the Simcenter STAR-CCM+ environment, focusing on the evaluation of ceramic core displacement. Additionally, the influence of molten metal density on this displacement is analyzed. The results made it possible to evaluate the loads acting on the ceramic core and estimate its displacement in the main direction of analysis, indicating the influence of molten metal density on the hydrodynamic forces and the structural response of the core.
