Nhamandu: história da origem dos nomes

Abstract

Esta pesquisa, intitulada ?Nhamandu: Histórias dos Nomes?, busca compreender a profunda relação entre os nomes tradicionais Guarani e a espiritualidade, a ancestralidade e o modo de ser do povo Guarani. O trabalho nasce da escuta dos mais velhos, dos líderes espirituais e da vivência na aldeia, valorizando os saberes orais e a transmissão de conhecimentos que atravessam gerações. No universo Guarani, os nomes não são apenas formas de identificação, mas carregam histórias, ensinamentos, orientações espirituais e a conexão direta com Nhamandu, nosso grande pai criador da luz e do conhecimento. Cada nome possui um significado, uma missão e uma força espiritual que orienta a caminhada de vida da pessoa, desde seu nascimento até sua trajetória na comunidade. A pesquisa destaca como o ato de nomear está profundamente ligado às cerimônias, e aos ensinamentos transmitidos pelos mais velhos. Também discute os desafios enfrentados diante das imposições da sociedade não indígena, que muitas vezes não reconhece a importância e o significado dos nossos nomes tradicionais. Este trabalho busca fortalecer, valorizar e registrar esses saberes, contribuindo para a preservação da memória, da cultura e da espiritualidade do povo Guarani.

Abstract: This research, entitled ?Nhamandu: Stories of Names?, seeks to understand the profound relationship between traditional Guarani names and the spirituality, ancestry, and way of being of the Guarani people. The work stems from listening to the elders, spiritual leaders, and the experience in the village, valuing oral knowledge and the transmission of knowledge that spans generations. In the Guarani universe, names are not just forms of identification, but carry stories, teachings, spiritual guidance, and a direct connection with Nhamandu, our great father, creator of light and knowledge. Each name has a meaning, a mission, and a spiritual force that guides a person's life journey, from their birth to their trajectory in the community. The research highlights how the act of naming is deeply linked to ceremonies and the teachings transmitted by the elders. It also discusses the challenges faced in the face of the impositions of non-indigenous society, which often does not recognize the importance and meaning of our traditional names. This work seeks to strengthen, value, and record this knowledge, contributing to the preservation of the memory, culture, and spirituality of the Guarani people.
