Abstract:

The purpose of this document is to present the activities, results and
knowledge acquired during the period of internship done by the author of this
document. The project consisted in the development of a customized system for a
Government's Social Security Institution. This system is responsible for managing the
users' data and their benefits requests to the Social Security Institution. The final
product is composed by modules, which are integrated among themselves and
among other modules that already exist inside the institution information system. One
of these modules consists in a Decision Support module, which was developed
intending to make the decisions regarding the benefits granting faster and more
correct. This document starts with a discussion about Social Security Institutions and
the problems faced by them when it comes to Information Systems. Following, a
similar system that already exists in the market is presented with some of its
features. After this introduction, there is an explanation about the companies involved
in this internship. Following, all the activities performed during this work are
presented; always according to the methodology chosen for the project. These
activities involved: System Requirements Specification, System Architecture
Specification, System Test Specification, Implementation, Integration and Tests. After
that, the final results are presented and explained. Finally, this document presents
the author's conclusions after this training period and the future perspectives for the
system implemented. |
