This article seeks to verify Occupational Health and Safety in the archives of Federal Universities in Santa Catarina, looking at the existing risks in the work environment and reflections on Occupational Health and Safety. It uses bibliographical and documentary methodology of an applied, exploratory and qualitative-quantitative nature, using a questionnaire. The results indicate a low incidence of work-related illnesses and no reports of accidents, suggesting a relatively safe environment. It highlights the need for ongoing preventive measures, investment in policies and guidelines that all archive workers are aware of. It indicates the implementation of emergency plans that can contribute to the conservation and preservation of documents, the structure of the archive and the safety of workers. It shows that integrated and continuous occupational safety management is important to ensure the health and well-being of professionals working in archives.
