Abstract

The proposal of this article is to understand if companies that offer graphic design in Chapecó present sustainable items in their service proposal, mainly ecodesign. The study presents topics such as sustainable development, product life cycle analysis, ecodesign. The qualitative research was conducted in the first half of 2016, interviews in three companies that offer graphic design in Chapecó. The result demonstrates that there are sustainability actions and environmental care in some companies, mainly due to the need for ISO certification. However, the graphic design applied in companies does not demonstrate the presentation of sustainable methodologies that question each individual project. That is, business practices and not ecodesign actions were perceived effectively.
