desenvolvido em seis etapas: definição das estratégias; levantamento bibliográfico; discussão teórica;
As propostas desenvolvidas apresentaram quatro
A proposta escolhida

This article presents the project "Inclusive Design: Understanding elderly’s needs" developed by the
Center for Research and Professional Practice in Interior Design of the Cesusc Faculty as an activity
of scientific initiation and extension. The objective of the project was to contribute to the quality of
life of the elderly in a long-term institution. The project was developed in six stages: definition of
strategies; bibliographic survey; theoretical discussion; field data collection; development of
proposals; evaluation of proposals by a bank. After the interview with the staff it became clear that the greatest difficulty faced by the elderly is the lack of privacy in the collective dormitories. The
developed proposals presented four types of solutions: retractable screens fixed to the wall; fixed
panels in MDF and glass; canvas dividers structured in the form of fan; Sliding curtains in malleable
blackout. The proposal chosen by the bank was the sliding curtains due to their suitability to the
current sanitary legislation and reduced costs. To find the solution it was necessary to analyze the
problem, synthesize the relevant information into a needs program and evaluate alternatives based
on pre-established criteria. Design has a high potential for contribution to all social strata, but it is
necessary to overcome limitations established by the economic conjuncture and to perceive its role
in the demands of society. |
